Report: Shree Ram Mandir and Samaj Mandir

The Construction of the long awaited
Shree Ram Mandir has finally begun on
16th April 2001. Volunteers of our village
have demolished the old Shree Ram Mandir
and Pujari residence. The task turned
out to be bigger than expected.
The Uthapan Vidhi (ceremony for the moving of the old murti from
the old mandir) was held on the 29th of January 2001 at 12:15 pm.
The Punja Vidhi was attended by a number of people from overseas
and local people. Eleven Brahman conducted the Puja Vidhi and afterwards
Maha Prasad (bhojen) was given out. Later a Garba Program was held
at night. The Bhumi Pujan for construction of the new Ram Mandir
was held on the 12th of March 2001 at 10:00 am.

The Shilanyas Vidhi (burying of shila in the ground) was held on
16th April 2001 at 10:00 am this vidhi was again attended by both
people living outside of India and local people. The Shilanyas vidhi
was conducted by seventeen Brahman and Maha Prasad (bhojen) was
given out afterwards. Later on at night a bajan program was held.
On these auspicious occasions, Shree Naranbhai Makanbhai, Vallabhbhai
Morarbhai, Naranbhai Budhiabhai, Mohanbhai Naranbhai and Kishorbhai
Mulchandbhai sponsored the Maha Prasad (bhojen).
At this stage mandir work has progressed to eighteen feet above
ground level. Most of the materials have been purchased and are
now on site. All expenditure has been approved and checked by the
architects/engineers and the President of the Navsarjan Commitee
before payments were made. The main points from the financial report
